The China Program at the University of Minnesota's College of Veterinary Medicine collaborates with partners in China to host several educational conferences.

University of Minnesota China Dairy Conference

The University of Minnesota China Dairy Conference (UMCDC) is organized by the College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Minnesota. The Conference has drawn a big crowd and received success in the past two years. With its strong dairy team, CVM is reputable for its national and international dairy research and outreach programs. In 2011, the College, in collaboration with its partners, developed and hosted the first ever National Center of Excellence in Dairy Veterinary Medicine. The Center provides advanced training to senior veterinary students focusing on dairy production medicine. Since 1981, the College has been organizing the Minnesota Dairy Health Conference. The mission of the conference is to provide a world-class dairy continuing education event for dairy veterinarians, dairy industry professionals, and dairy producers. The conference's program strives to present the latest developments in dairy management with a focus on udder health, reproductive performance and management, transition cow biology and management, young stock management, and profitability and sustainability. The China Dairy Conference will carry the same mission with a specific focus on China helping Chinese dairy producers to make profitable decisions. The roster of speakers includes internationally renowned researchers with years of service to the dairy industry across the USA and internationally.

Leman China Swine Conference

In 2012, the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine organized the first Leman Swine Conference in Xi'an, China. The Conference presented the latest developments on swine research and production, disease surveillance and control, integration of production and public health, and their impacts on the global economy to China – the world’s biggest pork-producing country. Speakers at the conference represented experts from North American and China.

International Small Animal Veterinary Conference

To continue its global continuing education efforts and to the development of small animal industry, the University of Minnesota will organize the University of Minnesota International Small Animal Veterinary Conference and Expo (MSAVC) on June 27-29, 2016 in Nanjing International Exhibition Center, Nanjing, China. The conference will invite renowned speakers in the areas of small animal disease, diagnostics, and therapeutics, nutrition, and breeding from North America and around the world to present the latest knowledge and technologies to conference participants.
